Anika Noi Rose Anika Noi Rose, an American actor and singer, is a renowned brand in the entertainment world. Her best-known role is as Tiana, Disney's first African American princess. She was recognised as one of the Disney Legend. Rose is well known for her character Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1972) is an American actor and a singer. The most famous of her roles was her role as Tiana Ariel, the princess of Disney who is one of the very first African American Princess to appear in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Her other notable roles include her role in the lead role of Lorrell Robinson on the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and also for her role as the character of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on the Starz series Power. The stage performances she has performed are well-known as well, especially her performances in the role of Emmie Thbodeaux in the Broadway production of the musical Caroline or Change (2004) that earned her the Tony Award Best Featured actress in the musical. She was also nominated in an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in a production of the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
